I am getting ADSL installed on Monday through Telecom... 256/128 and 10GB package. I don�t have an ADSL router yet (there are 3 computers in the house). I have looked at a Web Excel router for NZ$110 that has 4 ports. It doesn�t have a built in firewall is the only thing that I can see isn�t so good.
Any comments?
Dick Smith's XH1169 is a good firewall/adsl modem/4-port switch unit. Preconfigured for telecom, usually. Good price point, too. Hunt trademe, and accept an XH1149 if you see one - it can run the same firmware as the 1169, it's just a tad slower hardware - not that you'll notice.
