Some of the Asus AMD mobos were distinctly dodgy, but I can't remember
the details (except that Asus wasn't much interested in fixing it, and
disabled a few bios functions instead - may have been cpu temp + speed
control). Asus/Intel have a good reputation, this may not be the case
for Asus/AMD.

The chipset is probably more important. More reputable mobo makers are
more likely to get it right, but there's nothing anyone could do about
buggy chipsets.
