I know what they are, thanks Jim (unique message ids). My question was - esp given Gmail - how do I prevent webcrawler machines/people from using them as addresses on my domain?..

Clearly I cannot, so a simple means of filtering them through to the "Spam" folder on my mail client is all I seek.

I'll try the correct wildcard count this time (????????.???????) & see if that works.

These are not email addresses, Rik, even though they are in a similar format. They are the 'In-Reply-To' and 'References' data lines that help your mail program maintain threading, related to Message-Id.


I did mention them last night, I know the screen wasn't all that big and I only glossed over them.
