Robert replies: I do not have any experince with USB modems but I have used several different ADSL modems connected via ethernet. Most of them can be administered by simply browsing into them (no extra software required). Admittedly some seem to be more Mozilla friendly than others (they all seem fine with MS IE) but I have had no major problems setting them up from a Linux box.
