I must admit that I would love to test-drive it, as it will make an
excelent companion to my scanning and page-building scripts (Perl and
Perl/Tk). Have you GPL'ed it? ;-)

My script is, I suppose, a simple directory app for my photos. The
screen comprises 2 scrollable columns, the left lists vertically all
files in the selected dir by name with a thumbnail (if available).
Clicking a thumbnail selects the file, & shows any jpeg comments in
the Right panel. It also displays the image size in pixels & whether a
JFIF or EXIF file. If there is no thumbnail, 1 is created. jpeg
comments can be created/edited & saved, the image can be resized,
viewed fullscreen and now directly opened in The Gimp for processing
(much easier than scrolling through a list of filenames).
Comments can be cut/pasted between images. Not tested yet, but it
should be possible to copy comments from an image, process the image
in the Gimp, save it and paste the comments back in.
A previous incarnation of this script, lost when I had a hd crash also
allowed me to view all exif data, and add/alter selected exif fields
and also allowed it to be used as a very basic text editor. It also
runs in Windows but is not yet fully cross-platform.
