The card in question is an adaptor to mount a compact flash memory card to my
desknote via the PCMCIA slot (as per most laptops).

I did get the thing manually mounted for a while but cocked things up when I
decided to swap the compact flash card for another one (well I was on a roll
and amazed I'd managed to get something going...for a while I could read the
info off the new card) But ...I think the computer recognised the different
card and tried launching the auto mounting routine from YaST giving the
drive /hdg as opposed to the original card's /hde.
I was not able to determine the partitions on the card...but opted for /hde1
as per recommendations and it did work.

I'm in the process of trying to get things back up and running again...thanks
for all assistance....please hold off for the moment with further info...I'm
drowning in responses ;-)

Ralph..
