Hi all.
Just wondering if any ones had any experience here with ASUS Laptops,
especially with regards to running linux on them?
I know they work fine on the cheapie celeron ones. My tosh is fine apart
from a lack of sound ( acpi I think, but it's not too high on the list
of my requirements ) - tried 2.6.9-rc4, but that broke the nVidia
display drivers.
Also has any one had any experience with Athlon64 laptops or at least Athlon
based laptops also any experience with ATI based Mobility GPU's (9600, 9700)
and 3D under linux would be appreciated.
nVidia driver is pretty goo, although can be tediously picky around
kernel rebuilds ( and I had one cheapie nv card card that was completely
unreliable ). Dunno about the ATI - my compaq dl-360 is ATI mach-64 rage
and works fine, but I think you're after something slightly less stone
age and portable than that!

Any comment about these would be appreciated.
Thanks
