I plug in the first CD, get as far as the "Many versions of Welcome" screen, and the entire process stops. No errors, no beeps, the CD Rom goes idle (stops working), but no Install Menu...
Rest the bios back to defauilts. Reset all the memory and cards. Get a new CDROM drive.
I would have thought that the internals of Merlin would have been pretty straight forward, but having spoken to Volker about it, I'm now suspecting that there might be a hardware conflict of some description. Weird as that may sound.
Any thoughts? I have no problem with researching a cure for this, but heck, it's not offering me a lot to work with...
Can you change to another virtual console? Ctrl-Alt-F1? F2 during startup?
