For completeness, to adjust the file manager behaviour in GNOME 2.6 on
Fedora Core 2:
* Select Main Menuâ Preferencesâ More Preferencesâ File
Management,
* Select the Behaviour tab in the new window, and
* Set "Single click to activate items".
It is not something that is typically set much, so the option is a bit
buried on FC2.
