What about slipstreaming SP2 and installing from that. I think that may level the playing field a bit. However, I really am in favour of the Wacky Races idea, leaving machines connected to the internet and seeing how long they last. Its given me an idea for a club nite...sit an unpatched Win PC
on the net, and see how long it lasts... :-)
I dont want to put a damper on this, but I purchased a comp for my lady a couple of weeks ago and installed an unpatched version of winXP Pro. While I was copying files (firewall,anti-virus) from my computer to cd my lady decided to test her new machine, I dont think she would have been online for 10 minutes and that was long enough for her to pick up a trojan.
I cant imagine any unpatched Win PC lasting a hour, but it could still be good for a laugh.
The sooner I find a cheap computer to install linux on so I can start learning more about it the better.
Bill Gates may be a smart businessman, but if most manufacturers produced a product that had as many faults as MS software they would be bankrupt.
Its rubbish and will remain that way while they have over 90% of the market.
That should be some *real* ammunition in advocacy wars!
