I was just thinking in connection with my previous post on OpenWatcom that this might interest a compsci student at the Uni of Canterbury.
Anyone interested? Wesley Parish // ANN: Open Watcom is looking for a F77 compiler maintainer From: Lynn McGuire <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Tue, 04 Nov 2003 05:12:08 Groups: openwatcom.users.fortran no references I posted this to comp.lang.fortran last night: Announcement: The Open Watcom Projecthttp://www.openwatcom.org/islooking for a few individuals who would be interested in maintaining and possibly improving the F77 compiler built into Open Watcom. Open Watcom is currently in release 1.1 and includes C, C++ and F77 compilers for Dos16, Dos32, Win16, Win32, Netware ? and OS/2.Thecompilersarecurrentlybeingportedtolinux.TheF77 compiler specifically needs it's runtime library ported to linux as there is already a project to port the C and C++ runtime libraries to linux. Also, the F77 compiler needs some specific implementations such as the integer*8 and logical*8 datatypes and all of the F90/F95/F2000 improvements. So, here is your chance to add to a great open source project and get some compiler time on your resume / life accomplishments !
