Yup Zane i wanted to awhile ago to d/l rpm files via wget then have a urpmi 
repository setup as a removable media and it did work.

you long in as root run I ran this command from the Console /usr/bin/genhdlist 
--dest /home/dave/rpms to create the HDlist.cz and the synthecic.hd.cz list.
