they had a "crappy old 14 inch monitor" before and were happy.
let them be.
If you insist, a couple of hundred dollars will upgrade the monitor to a
17" display, capable of doing 1024x768, 85hz.
The optical mouse is $15 brand new from PC practice.
the mouse is not secondhand. It works nicely - the wheel is great.
But, my arguement illustrates the point.
For $500, they can have a new machine, which compares "ok" with a second
hand mac.
