Hi there,

I have given up on Drake for now myself. Switched to Suse 9.2 and love it (thanks Volker).

The upgrade from 10 to 10.1 fixed sound but broke ethernet and utterly barfed on wireless. It fixed acpi but broke many other things. Seems drake takes one step forward and 2 back with every release. I am happy to recommend drake still but they are not the only 'desktop distro' on the block anymore and they need to raise their QC game to be honest.

Some agreement there...I'm happy overall running 10.0, but just wish Mandrake would sort out some Mandrake Control Centre issues, especially the networking and internet config one, which keeps thinking that my LAN to my other Mandrake box is the default internet route if it is enabled and 'up'. I have to ensure that my other box is switched off (as in cold, no electrons) when booting my main machine so that the default route isn't changed...as soon as Mandrake detects a live link on booting the route changes to eth0 instead of ppp0, annoying and I haven't figured how to correct this yet since the number of scripts involved in Mandrakes networking config is large... :-(
