Thanks Nick... they're fairly basic mistakes I've made. As I can only play with this stuff early in the mornings, I'll try again tomorrow.
However, I went to the browser interface o make changes ready for then, and it won't allow me to modify anything on the red interface when it's active. How do I get round this? Directly edit the config files and reboot? There must be a simpler way!

I also can't get the web page up for the router. I can only telnet to it from the firewall. Looks like a routing problem? from the inside, the firewalls at 192.168.1.254, which is set as the default gateway, and the router's 10.0.0.138. Any ideas what I could have configured incorrectly?
