Because I have always been using Linux in German I did not know what Segmentation Fault means.

No actually this error has nothing to do with your system time being somewhat incorrect.

Q1. define "sometimes"

always with abuse and with that wrong configuration for thunderbird. I copied the thunderbird prefs.js into my linux installation because I have been using M$ Windows until I got a new modem a week ago. There was one reverence to "D:\X\vCard.html".

Q2. where did you get the SuSE 64bit version?

It's an original version from GlobalPC.

Q3. are the applications compiled from source or are you just using them "out of the box"?

abuse was "out of the box" and thunderbird was the latest version from mozilla.org

thats enough for starters

On my system (SuSE 9.2 64 bit) sometimes programs (abuse, Thunderbird with wrong configuration) crash down. When I start them in a konsole-window I get the following message:

Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)

Does anyone know what this means?
