Oh well, I suppose it being written to /dev/null or something.
Very helpfulNOT I must say.

Wonderful news. That means that you have the simplest window manager ther is
going. It's called TWM - short for The Window Manager - Original Thinkers!

You can also run any other X-11 or terminal program now.

It is a calculator for the modelines in the XF86Config file.
This is the section of the RUTE book which deals with setting up an X-11
Windowing server.:-

I'm sorry I forgot I had it available.
There is a pink coloured panel with sample modelines in it in the screen below
the one brought up by the link above.

Try the command:-
/usr/X11R6/bin/X -version
That will probably tell you.
It would be interesting to know what you have there.

True.
If you want to go further with this machine I'd suggest that you at least get
an up to date(ish) X-11 server installed. X has been improved by orders of
magnitude in recent years. Like it goes _much_ quicker than it used to.

N.P.

That's understandable. All you have to do now is to wait for a few months when
the Windows side will be stuffed full of spy-ware, viruses, and all sorts of
sordid trash. Windows will be going like an alcoholic snail. MSWord will have
crashed for the umpteenth time and she will have lost a morning's work.
Don't worry, at that point she'll be squeaking for the safety and security
offered by Linux. :-)

What does she do with Windows anyway?
