If you want to be able to clean the NTFS partition from within Linux you will 
need to arrange for the NTFS to be writable. Use the 'Captive' system.

Note that while safe, this solution is not particularly fast.

Enter a line for it into /etc/fstab
Automount it on start-up if you so wish.
man mount
man 5 fstab
for all the gore.
