Apparently some contractor decided to dig up the fiber optic cable that feeds the campus - Not the ISP's fault this time.


That must be the same digger that has taken out Snap Internet / iNet's dialup lines since c2pm yesterday. It's the only non-momentary link-drop I can report in all the (5+?) years I've been with them. So this is why I've been maintaining an Xtra 'Wireless Jetstream' (c56K effective) account as well! Typically, after 2.5 years of major underuse, I had only just downgraded my data plan with Xtra; gotta love that Murphy!

It made it hard for me to work yesterday afternoon - actually had to use paper based catalogs and data books and use the phone!!!
