Yes, but that's only if you are consuming 300W. A laptop will consume about 60W, which is only 5A. Also, cigarette lighter sockets are often fused with 10A fuses, which means you can only draw 120W (that's worth checking on your car). On my car the cigarette lighter is off when the ignition is off. Other cars have it unswitched. Andy
