try quoting - eg

mv "Fred Bloggs.htm" fredbloggs.html

changes the name.


or whats called "escaping"

mv Fred\ Bloggs.htm fredbloggs.html

the backslash character \ tells the shell that the next character is taken 
literally, not as the command line delimiter.
