Maybe, but not at all for the purpose I have described. It's a character set displayer, not a font displayer, and it's basically useless to show what's in a font as it replaces everything which isn't in the font with characters from some other font. > xpdf is pretty terrible too, given that the author has a strange > business model surrounding his license, so doesn't appear to be that > interested in accepting patches. Haven't heard of any license trouble, but whenever ghostscript kills itself on some pdf, xpdf manages fine. xpdf also has some pdf->ps conversion to speak of - ghostscript just turns everything into a huge pile of curves.
