Yes, In unix no news is good news. _Always_.

To check that your archive is complete:-

cat /dev/fd0 | cpio --extract --list

check that you don't get any nasty messages.

btw, now that you have a cpio archive on the floppy you do know that you can't 
use it for other files don't you. ( You did ask for something simple )

Look folks he's done it!

He can type 33 characters so he can now justify calling our Min. of Ed. for 
half a dozen NCEA units. :-)
