Just FYI there don't seem to be any ipv6 options when kdebase is
compiles. kdebase provides konqueror.

on the other hand kdelibs (which is a dependency of kdebase and pretty
well any kde application) has a compile option 

 --with-ipv6-lookup=yes/no

That is the only option that is turned on when kdelibs is compiled with
ipv6 support in gentoo. In fact it seems to be the only option ipv6
turns on anywhere in the basic kde packages.

Thanks to Volker for the post he just made about this feature (ie the
environment variable KDE_NO_IPV6). I can confirm that on gentoo the
contents of /etc/env.d/99kde is loaded into the user's environment,so
the effect of putting the environment variable there will be global (on
gentoo). simple really.
