We have acquired a newer box to install IPCop onto at home.

I am a little unsure, from the documentation, whether it is OK to create a
backup on the existing machine for use on the new machine.

"When first creating backup files IPCop creates two files, a tar.gz file and
a .dat file. It also creates a unique backup key
that will be used to encrypt all the tar.gz files. The Encrypted and
Unencrypted descriptions of the files are misnomers.
While the .dat file is encrypted, the encryption is used to "sign" the .dat
file, so it can't be accidentally restored on a
different IPCop machine. Once a key has been created, only .dat files can be
used for a restore."

Does anyone on list know if we can use the same backup floppy for different
hardware?
