More of a collaboration of ideas from around the net. Which has been niggling in my head for quite a while now. Check out SOWN[1] (although the wiki has been quiet of late) which is an interesting project. Their topology ideas[2] are very interesting. The soekris hardware[3], especially the net4521 along with a weather proof case would be really easy to mount in a small space on buildings etc. Pebble linux[4], based of Debian looks like a very useful project. I have some more stored in my brain somewhere but I have to go to work right now.
