I have the ethernet plugged into my PCMCIA adaptor (which has worked before, under a different distro). I don't know where to start trouble-shooting. Suggestions?
The distro is Ubuntu.
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~ $ /etc/init.d/pcmcia status
* Status of PCMCIA service is... [ ok ]
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~ $ lsmod | grep pcmcia
pcmcia_core 63156 2 ds,yenta_socket
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~ $ sudo grep -i pcmcia /var/log/syslog
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~ $ lspci

0000:06:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+ (rev 10)
Does ifconfig show anything for eth0?
No. It only shows a Local Loopback entry.
I tried unplugging and hot-plugging the PCMCIA card, so that I could see what hit the syslog:

How now?
