Google has not helped me on this one.
I have found that the color can be altered by altering the xsetroot command in /ext/X11/xinit/xinitrc on a global basis when running startx icewm, removing xsetroot sets the background to default to blue.
I have also tried altering the xsetroot commands in Xsession and Xsetup_0 without success.
No wonder some of you have gone off Mandrake
