> Next trick for you - how cool would it be to hook all this up with OSD?
Answer: Not cool. At least, that is my opinion. Remember, when it's turned on I can hear what's playing, and I know every track that is on the server. The details are also shown on an LCD on the front panel of the machine in the lounge. Attaching the details as a signature is only to brag about my l33t technology setup. I like to tell you all out there in the land of silence what hoopy trax I'm laying down. <snip> > > #!/bin/bash > ARTIST=$(echo "query artist" | nc -w 2 -q 1 192.168.2.20 9232 | grep > "info artist" |cut -c18- | tr -d "\r\n") > TITLE=$(echo "query title" | nc -w 2 -q 1 192.168.2.20 9232 | grep "info > title" |cut -c17-) > osdctl -s "Now playing $TITLE by $ARTIST" Snippets like this are interesting to read, and make me think of alternative applications. Thanks. Andy
