It gets worse...

Once I was copying some files to my USB-stick. I had there a directory called routebourn in which was a directory pictures. So far so good. But in pictures there was routebourn which contained pictures which contained routeburn...


Delete in konqueror brought up a progress-window. After if had recognised the first 7000 Folders it said that the name of /media/usb-something/routebourn/pictures/routebourn/pictures/routebourn/pictures/routebourn/pictures/routebourn/pictures/routebourn/pictures.... was too long.

rm -r said that I should contact the system administrator because there was a recursive directory structure. After writing a note to myself I tried to delete the directory under windows which surprisingly worked.

That was my personal crash-course in hardlinks.
