The Weather image is info taken from the metar info on the noaa site decoded with some php wot I wrote ( it's a really good scripting language as well, you know ), and then embedded into a webcam image ( ftp'd from the camera ) using convert again. Even the camera is OSS, with a 48mm polarising filter gaffer taped onto the end of a 30mm lens! Server is LAMP based.

BTW do you live over there? We may be able to do the 802.11b thing? (viaYes, we do. Was thinking of putting up an ap and seeing who was interested in the village... ? looked at 11a, but the range is too poor, so I'll probably stick with g.

As for overall look and feel, fonts too small (but that could be aI've given up on the sub-800 pix wide bit, and sized it at 900. Maybe I should just fix it at 90% of your screen width for those with biiig screens? Simple enough, but I'd have to do something a bit clever along the way with javascript ( yeuch ). I think that this could be quite important with the current trend towards cinemascope.
