The Weather image is info taken from the metar info on the noaa site decoded with some php wot I wrote ( it's a really good scripting language as well, you know ), and then embedded into a webcam image ( ftp'd from the camera ) using convert again. Even the camera is OSS, with a 48mm polarising filter gaffer taped onto the end of a 30mm lens! Server is LAMP based.

where is the weather info?? I cannot find the link?

Under local info... 'tis dark now, had to display in white when that happens. Try in daylight... it's a bit more interesting.

BTW do you live over there? We may be able to do the 802.11b thing? (via
linux of course, just bring it back OnT :-)

Yes, we do. Was thinking of putting up an ap and seeing who was interested in the village... ? looked at 11a, but the range is too poor, so I'll probably stick with g.

As for overall look and feel, fonts too small (but that could be a
browser issue)

I've given up on the sub-800 pix wide bit, and sized it at 900. Maybe I should just fix it at 90% of your screen width for those with biiig screens? Simple enough, but I'd have to do something a bit clever along the way with javascript ( yeuch ). I think that this could be quite important with the current trend towards cinemascope.

Cheers,

Steve
