Think it's got a lot to do with the idea of the PC as a replacement for a 
typewriter (1) and well they also might think of themselves as clerks 
also(2).


1. ever see a secretary do anything more than cursory things to a 
typewriter ??? (as for myself i cannot say as i have not knowledge on the 
matter)

2. both (office workers and secretaries) would be end users of office 
equipment full-stop.

just my 0.02 worth.

but think office staff should know a bit more about PC's (especially the 
younger ones -male & female).
