Hello Lindsay, When I have had that kind of problem with Windows / linux together I have found the following works for me.
1. Load Windows ... especially WinXP first. 2 . Load Linux but 3. Put the boot partition for grub / lilo anywhere but in the same place as the Windows boot loader. IE make a second partition for boot in Linux and don't use the first partition on the disk for this purpose. Give the first partition to Windows. 4. Do not allow Lilo or grub to do anything with the MBR. There is a choice somewhere that makes them place themselves in the non-default place. 5. If this still doesn't resolve itself use the windows boot loader to load linux kernel instead of Grub / Lilo. A more explicit set of instructions can be found here : http://www.geocities.com/epark/linux/grub-w2k-HOWTO.html HTH, Shane ======= At 2005-04-10, 16:44:16 you wrote: ======= >Jeff >Frustrations. >I've spent many hours today repartitioning Judy's PC.
