Just a reminder that there will be a fix-up evening at 7:30pm tonight at the St Albans Community Resource Centre, 1047 Colombo Street. See the CLUG wiki for a map:

http://clug.net.nz/index.php/MeetingSchedule

You will need to bring:

- Computer, monitor, mouse, keyboard
- Power lead
- Multi-box
- Extension lead
- Network cable if you have one - UTP with RJ45, not coax.

Assistance will (probably) be available for any or all of:

- Partitioning
- Installation
- Configuring software update systems (apt-get, urpmi, emerge)
- Modem, dial-up, and email configuration
- Printing
- USB drives, digital cameras, external CD burners
- Almost anything else that you're stuck on

Feel free to post questions on the list in advance, to get the ball rolling.

Jim Cheetham will also be presenting a talk on the use of "regular expressions". Regular expressions are search strings used by command-line tools like grep, scripting languages like awk and perl, and editors like vim and emacs. It's worth knowing the basics, and the tricks that you can perform.
