This is true for all rechargable batteries! (And has been for decades.)
You run them dead flat, you take 10%[1] off their life expectency each
time. LiIon have a pretty bad life expectency in the first place (as
well as the highest capacity/volume ratio on the market and a wildly
inflated price).

Yes, that too. Keep in mind that batteries discharge themselves over
time while just sitting on the shelf, that's why everything says "charge
before use" when you buy it. The self-discharge of NiCd may be around
10% per month, NiMH is lower.
