I didn't reply to Hadley's posting, I replied to yours, and trimmed. I get panned for not trimming, now you are panning me for trimming. I read the article and couldn't fathom how it supports your proposition that "as of 2.6.10 the linux kernel will not allow the insertion of non-gpl modules" Like it or not, vast numbers of hardware drivers are non-gpl. Why would Linus shut out the vast number of users who utilise hardware without gpl drivers? And besides that its demonstrably untrue, as your own machine, or Caleb's, will undoubtedly show upon a very simple investigation. Furthermore if your proposition was accurate, don't you think we would have heard about it everywhere from slashdot to the BBC?
