Anyway (back on topic) I suggest that whatever modem you settle on should be 
checked for Linux compatibility.

We have a Dynalink 302G  which works fine and was cheap but I cannot browse 
into it with Konq or Firefox or Mozilla. (IE works fine and that really 
peeves me off 'cos I do not use Windows at home)
  
Hi, i don't know if you have this modem telepermited in nz yet , but here in canada i have a siemens speedstream 6300, adsl router with modem, 4 port router + 1WAN/LAN port, and 802.11G wireless, its a really nice modem, anyways, good luck with your modem, and i also wanna know, i'm moving down under in a year or 2, anyone can recommend me a good isp like i had in canada, i have been reading about orcon, and clear, but i haven't seen much cables companies like here, anyways, i apreciate the info, good luck
