Last time I did an install I used the quick install guide (a very abbreviated handbook, see http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-x86-quickinstall.xml?style=printable) I printed it out and went through crossing each bit off as i did it, until the whole page was crossed out. -- Nick Rout
