Forget it, it's not even CD material, you're talking DVD here. Compression ratios are bad for analog recordings, presumably because of the tape noise. If you have a digital camcorder it's probably better, but you're also limited by the quality of the encoder after editing. Dunno how the freebees stick up. It's known that those used by the top professionals (read hollywood) are 2 galaxies better than anything one can buy for a PC.
