I am using full realplayer (i think- its all happenning inside a browser plugin) so not getting that problem.
The audio codec thats seems to be used for all the bbc shows is called cook.so AFAICT. I can play with realplayer gui or mplayer (which is compiled with realplayer support and uses the cook.so codec). I'm afraid i am a bit indiscriminate when it comes to codecs, if it works and improves my multimedia experience, i generally let the powers that be install it. here are the gory details of what mplayer says: ======================================================================== Opening audio decoder: [realaud] RealAudio decoder opening shared obj '/opt/RealPlayer/codecs/cook.so' Audio codec: [23] 44 Kbps Stereo Music High Response - RealAudio Audio bitrate: 44.100 kbit/s (5513 bps) AUDIO: 44100 Hz, 2 ch, 16 bit (0x10), ratio: 5513->176400 (44.1 kbit) Selected audio codec: [racook] afm:realaud (RealAudio COOK) ======================================================================== Checking audio filter chain for 44100Hz/2ch/16bit -> 44100Hz/2ch/16bit...
