so should any reasonable quality shielded coax cable with an rca plug on each 
end do? I have lots of those.

yes except the amp has two digital inputs, one coax and one optical. I
have two devices to plug into it. One device has a coax out only, so
that uses up the coax input on the amp. The other device has coax or
optical out, but I'll have to use the optical.
