I want to test out the 5.1 capabilities of my new computer/sound system combination.
I'd like to find (or even create with open source tools) a nice .ac3 sound file, preferably one that sent a sound to each of the six channels (front, centre, right, sub, left rear, right rear) and then made some horrendous noise of a train rushing through the room for good measure. :-) I would have thought that there would be sample files of this sort all over the net, but all my googling leads me to : a dead ends; or b. info on how to extract ac3 audio from dvd's; or c. posts from people on forums who have possessed or made such files, but not linked to the files or the instructions for making them! any assistance welcomed ;-) -- Nick Rout
