An interesting idea, and one I'd considered. But I suspect people who
will be interested in the newer one will be more interested in 3D
games than simple email and office apps (read: windows games). Do you
think your average joe public would be interested in buying it with
linux on it? (that's not a rhetorical question, I'm interested in
honest opinions). If I do sell it with billyware, I'll still include a
legal copy of full office software - OpenOffice.org :)

The older one I might have a better chance of selling as an "internet
ready" machine for browsing / word processing / email, it's still
plenty quick enough and would be priced quite a lot lower. I might try
selling that one with linux, see how it goes. But not gentoo,
something more.. um... "point and click" maybe. What distro would be
good, do you think? I have knoppix 3.2 CDs lying around, maybe I'll
throw that on it...
