The other is that gimp is not PhotoShop. By which I mean that it has a completely different user interface which I understand seasoned PhotoShop users find extremely difficult to get used to.
but now there is Gimpshop! (http://plasticbugs.com/index.php?p=241) I remember reading that there's a gentoo port out there somewhere.
