Hear hear!  If someone wishes to talk, then it is up to them to say how 
long they are prepared to talk for.

Incidentally, Carl, you did a talk about the Unix command line which 
totally motivated me.  Although it was a trivial example it really opened 
my eyes to what it was all about.  You did a quick demo using things like 
sort, uniq, cut and other simple tools, all piped together.  That was when 
I actually "got it".

I hope that others are inspired by these talks to either a) apply the 
language under discussion to a problem they are working on, or b) get a 
book or do some other research because the language interests them.
