OK, I felt a bit stupid after suggesting you convert your ogg files to ogg files the other day so I hacked up a (very rudimentary) little script for you which preserves the tag data whilst converting. http://nice.net.nz/linux/ogg2mp3.txt It takes an ogg file as its argument and creates an mp3 file in the current directory.
