Thanks Zane, for passing the notices on. It would be remiss not to jog people's memories on the given day too, so..

As per above; a little extra detail that might help folk decide on attending:

The second part of tonight's workshop will take us through some introductory cognisance of various programming languages, like C, Pike, Python, PHP. The CLUG will go into depth on these later. There is always a need to satisfy two levels of learner in these sessions. We have beginners, who attend in varying numbers but appreciate any amount of insight into the mysteries of *nix. And we have old-hands, whose time invested in an outing must be rewarded with something useful and fun. So the GLU workshops are a blend of both interest sets, and more.

At GLU we are trialling alternative pedagogy ("the science of teaching", Collins) - where the education standard is a 'preach from the pulpit' style of delivery, but we are working to maximise group participation. So the quality of each event depends very much on who shows up, and what we put into it.

Programmers are a rare and exclusive breed. It would be great to see as many as possible getting involved in GNU/Linux continuity.

Thanks for your time.

See you,

Rik
