Did I read somewhere that mozilla itself will not receive much (or any?)
new development, with the focus going onto the standalone firefox and
thunderbird?

What else did mozilla do?

composer has been forked to nvu IIRC
I dunno if anyone actually _used_ the IRC client LOL.

If I am right the moral may be to stop worrying about mozilla versions
and use the replacements.
