A new version of wget has just been released on the fsf site. From the NEWS file * Changes in Wget 1.10.
** Downloading files larger than 2GB, sometimes referred to as "large files", now works on systems that support them. This includes the majority of modern Unixes, as well as MS Windows. So check which version of wget you are running; $ wget -V GNU Wget 1.9.1 Oh well, perhaps I need to attend the gentoo installfest.
