Some while back I had a Paradise proxy issue too - they have at least
two, and they are selected randomly for each http request. On a website
which uses IP-based login tracking this went rather badly - I had to log
in again every second page because my IP number "changed". I needed
several attempts to make someone at Paradise understand the problem, but
the did enter the remote IP into some proxy exclusion list and I've not
seen a problem until the site was closed down half a year ago.

Nope, won't help if the Paradise "transparent" proxy treats nice.net.nz
differently than sourceforge. My own private IP comes up, as it does
with 2 overseas my-IP sites, so either Paradise also added those sites
to ther exceptions or their proxy isn't currently mangling. Well not for
me, just to cover all possibilities ;)
